Two Individuals Charged with Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was taken into custody following a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
