Skydance Paramount Will Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – News

Skydance Paramount plans to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce all specifics via its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the organization employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
