Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a crowded California coastline unexpectedly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Footage posted on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin near the beach then falling towards the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palms and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
